xcelgo provides software and consulting services for Virtual Automation and Virtual Commissioning.

xcelgo was founded in 1987 under the name Simcon and for a number of years the company primarily engaged in providing consultancy service for manufacturing, internal logistics and material handling.

In 1997 the company became an AutoMod Simulation Software distributor in Denmark.

In 2002 Simcon became a private limited company and the following year the company embarked on developing its own software for test of controls software for automation and virtual commissioning in automated material handling.

• The first version of System Emulation Framework (SEF) for testing WMS/MFC controls software was released in 2004
• The first version of Experior for PLC testing was released in 2006.
• The first version of Ghost Controller for testing ERP/SAP interfaces for automated material handling systems was released in 2006.

In October 2009 the company became xcelgo A/S. The name change marks the new corporate identity as a company specialised with software development and consulting.
